BIG COMPETITION 5 YEARS - La Taverne du Viking

BIG COMPETITION 5 YEARS

La Taverne du Viking is celebrating its 5th anniversary. It was on November 14, 2017 that the site officially opened, after more than a year and a half of research and work with artisans.

The 5 years in a few figures are: 640,313 visits to the store, more than 35,000 orders. Conquered distant countries like: Canada, the United States, Brazil, but also close to us: Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Germany!

But above all it is 5 years of efforts, personal sacrifices, crises (covid, war), phases of depression sometimes, questioning, sleepless nights and strong desires to stop everything.

But besides that, there have been thousands of positive messages, love and customers who have become close friends and for that thank you!

Before explaining here how the big competition will unfold, I will talk about the future of La Taverne du Viking in a few lines.

La Taverne du Viking lost a year and a half on its projects, because if you don't know, the company is run by a single person who manages both: technical issues, customer service, marketing, accounting, ideas, future products, negotiations with artisans etc...

Besides that, I became a father and those who experience it know: Managing a child and a business at home is not something simple.

So I wanted to put aside the brand's future projects to devote myself 100% to the first months of my son who is essential to me... And today, I do not regret this choice.

The Viking Tavern returns with an inestimable force that will shake Midgard!

A clothing line is being created and will arrive in spring 2023, a line that recalls the love for Viking culture.

You can wear our clothes at the office, at a wedding, or on a daily basis... Because our designs will be sober and refined but linked to this beautiful culture that we all love. Our clothes will be of quality, at an affordable price and created in France!

In order to help our Ukrainian artisans, and to maintain sustainability for our products, we will offer 80% continuous manufacturing and no longer on demand as today.

Thus, our craftsmen will manufacture the most requested products in advance in order to offer delivery within 48 hours from France.

Naturally, this cannot apply to our rings and our silver products which will remain on a made-to-order basis and within our current lead times.

We are working with certain Norman partners on the creation of a physical store in the center of Rouen.

The idea is to offer our products for direct purchase and to develop our brand in Normandy with our participation in certain medieval markets and festivals.

We want our store to be the meeting place for all lovers of Viking culture, which is why it will be a place full of surprises…

In order to meet strong demand, we work with our craftsmen to produce products for less than €60.

Handmade and quality will always be essential.

Our craftsmen are working on other less expensive manufacturing methods to offer products at competitive prices expected by 78% of our customers ( who responded to our previous questionnaire).

But we don't stop there. We are going to offer new Axes, new statuettes (in different materials), our drinking horns will make a comeback and we are working on an illustrated book for young and old!

That's a lot for one person, right? This is why La Taverne du Viking will strengthen its teams by 2023 in order to develop all of this more quickly.
